Grafin another German import who is a very nice hunting dog, I would say other than being consistent she is a very hard hunting female. Which because of her desire and will has proven to be a productive asset no matter what we are looking for. She is a big running female that adapts well to cover but also keeps a eye on me always hunting for me. I would say she is one of the hardiest hunting dogs that I own. On the other hand an absolute sweetheart with a good disposition around my kids and other dogs. She has tons of point and retrieve and loves the Water. She is a very methodical traking dog really soaking up the track and showing desire and sureness on the track. She has so far thrown dogs with tons of heart and beutiful dispositions. I am very pleased with there talent overall desire and drive to retreive and and find game.

Bosco is a very majestic noble dog with eye catching look to him. He is always gets lots of complements and coments on how he looks and how fun he is to watch hunt and hang with. He is a bold dog in water and on land infact he will jump of any thing to get a retreive. He always hunts hard and shows great manners behind game and is a very intense point dog. He was a dog as a puppy I would take him across a track I laid for and older dog and he would always show great tracking ability from a very young age. I am most excited about his coat its is very dense and extremly hard its is ovbiously short or medium length that lays down nicely but still has the big beutiful head and thick beard. I feel this litter complemnets each other very well they bothe compliment each others strengths and weekness. One mistake I believe I made is when i bred the litter Bosco came out of, I bred the litter really late in the year and he matured alittle slower which definatley didn't give him the opportunity to test to his full potential. I am planning on VGP ing him next year now that he is matured. And plan on doing very well.

They are seven weeks old now and looking great. I am close to settling on where they are all going. They are starting to eat us out of house and home and ten puppies sure can poop allot. LOL I am waiting to hear from the breedwarden on a day to tattoo and inspect the puppies. As soon as I get that done I can and will contact the owners and make pick up and delivery arraignments.

The pups are growing fast and still doing well. The pups are starting to pack everything around playing keep away and showing pointing instinct. I will tell you this they are really hard to take pictures of they are energetic and EVERY WHERE. I probably took 100 pictures to get the ones I got. Tuesday they will get there first pair of shots and another wormer dose. They are changing every day not sure yet where there homes will be yet, but it wont be long.

4 Weeks Old !!!

Well of course we have the Family involved, Its good for the kids and really good for the puppies. Monday was the first day we started them on soft food and they dove right in. Usually puppies are little slow to eat if they do at all the first time. Not this bunch they dove right in and cleaned it all up, by next week they will go to twice a day. And this is when we will start to see some personalities they are lots of fun they look great.

Greta v.Erthal is a talented dog from Germany. She has a very strong pointing instinct and has always naturally honored. She has been one of my top guiding dogs used for upland game since she was 9 months old. I use her 3 to 4 days a week, 7 months a year. She is explosive in the water and on the field, with a medium range search. Greta is very methodical while on track, proving very useful in recovering game. She has a very sweet disposition which makes her a great companion on and off the field. She is the only dog at my kennel that is a permanent house pet as well. The others come in occasionally on rotation her disposition with the kids and wife has won her the spot permanently.

Is all natural with a lot of talent he has tons of heart you can ask him to do anything and he will do it with 110% all the time. He was easy to train I took him to the VGP at 15 months old with only 5 months of training. He has produced very solid puppies that have all had really nice coats in fact some have received 12 in coats. He is my go to dog I take him every where I go and hunt. I have trained and owned many dogs over the years and Rex is in my top 5 ever. His search is very strong with a really good nose he swims as good as he runs. He is hard to beat to any retrieve. I have chosen him cause I wanted to infuse some of his blood lines into this litter because he throws the natural ability, keen mental stability, and strong bid ability that I am looking I am looking for.

They are two weeks old now and all looking great they have doubled in size if not tripled. They are all healthy and darkening up a bit. They are starting to show sign of beard and walking around with there eyes open and of coarse there tails docked.

My Three stooges and I am not just talking about my Puppies either. They wanted to pose for a picture with the puppies. The river valley in which I live in is beautiful this time of year and makes a great backdrop.

The Puppies are growing like weeds wandering the yard, chasing the kids and carrying any thing they can get in there mouths. They are starting to really show there personalities as well as some nice little beards. They are started on mush as a supplement all though they don't need it just want weening to go smoothly.

This is the bunch with lots of color we have 2 males on the right (one brown/white and the other Black/and white) 3 females on the left ( one brown/white the othe two are black and white)

We are happy to finally have them here we had 9 total we ran in to a few still bornes and one that just wasn't strong enough. It always is disapointing to loose any puppies at all. However to look on the brite side there is enough nipples to keep them plenty healthy. And boy they are some lookers with nice triangles on there noses and lots of color.

Mom looks great and is doing a wonderful job.

Helmut is a dog that I have been watching excitedly since he was born. He is a son of my stud dog Rex II vom Bockenhagen. Helmut came from a litter with very tight dense coats with beautiful dispositions in fact there were a couple of 12 coats in this litter with some 11 as well. Helmut has always been a looker, he has been fun to watch grow up in to a very talented plus good looking Drahthar.   Helmuts sire was 15 months old when he completed the VGP and his mental stability at a young age with pure talent has been passed down. Helmut did better than that and completed it at 14 months old. Helmut is a dog with a lot of search and is an exceptional bloodtracking dog. I know his owner plans to do the 20 hour blood track this year. His owner told me the harder he challenges him the better he does. I have heard from a few people he has mastered the Chuckar hills, showing tons of manner behind game holding his birds until Chad gets to him. I am very excited to see the pups he produces Helmuts mother line (vom Wasatch) is something else, I must not discount as contributor to this litter that should provide the balance of conformation and talent. Which will tie into my future breeding goals.

I took the day off from work today and like usual it snows on us so I just hung out with the Kids. I took my daughter to school and on the way home with the wife and two little boys ( future hunters ) we saw some gees on the Duchesne river by our property. So me and the boys and the dog (Grafin vom Bandorfer-Forst ) put the stalk on them. I have killed enough geese this year but what the heck the kids had a blast so we posed for the camera.

From day one I fell in love with him however he has to prove him self this year we will be testing him in Malta Idaho as well. He really seems to be fearless and a vacuum on blood and any thing else. I am very happy with the way the puppies are doing and looking of course. Every puppy is showing a beard already and their coats are pretty tight and dense. Their bites are looking great as well. We are going to worm them tomorrow and plan on doing there first set of shots next week, and worming them again before they go home.

Nic vom Bockenhagen is a striking dog with a perfect temperament. He is a very big searching dog with an unmatched prey drive. He is very skilled in the water with a great nose. His father is Brisko v.Erthal the #2 dog in performance as well as best looking male in the 2004 Hegewald. I am directly lining up Greta with that line. I have had this breeding in mind since I imported Greta from Germany. Her mom is Bene v.Erthal best looking female of 2004 Hegewald, Brisko's sister. I know Nic personally and have spend a lot of time hunting with him. If we could breed all our Drahts to be as talented and look as handsome as he, we would be so lucky. (He has passed his great looks on to all the litters he has sired.)

There is puppies Everywhere!!! 13 healthy puppies 9 Females and 4 Males.
Now the work begins trying to rotate the feeding and keeping them all healthy and warm. I am very excited they look very good. As you can see there is lots of markings and the heads look really good as well as the over all condition of the pups.

Boy they are mobile now about the only way to get a group picture is to whistle and let them crawl all over you.
nice square heads these two were wrestling she paused enough for a photo opp.

Another fun thing is they are carrying everything around now in fact we shouldn't encourage the shoe thing but it was to cute. Preston our 4 year old left his church shoes outside and the male we call Bosco found it and was carrying so proudly.

Here is another one. You get one lined up then they fall asleep and the others are walking all over them. It would be easier if they would sleep during picture time.

However, they are starting to show there personalities. You can tell the males are running to attack the photographer.

These puppies are definitely kid friendly. They do not lack attention.

The kids are with them lots, and they them love. And offer great help for begining socialization training.

The little Gals are fast a sleep, finally. We tried for 15 minutes to line them up for pictures and the were to wiggly.

The boys were a little more cooperative.....for a minute anyways!!!

By the way their eyes started opening yesterday and they are now walking around pretty well.

Here is another picture of my Little Lady's. All day long they eat, sleep and then eat and sleep some more. We are looking forward to there eyes opening. Then the real fun begins!!

Here's a picture of the boys. The pictures don't give them justice, they have nice big blocky heads and nice round full belly's. Mom is doing a great job keeping my pups fed.

The verdict is in 7 females and 5 males. They look great lots of markings nice size neck and heads. They started pointing and tracking right after they left the womb. Okay back to reality they seem to be healthy and lively. Mom is doing her job great.
